Amy Lee: the Beautiful Writer with a Symbolic Video and Magical Lungs
This video by Evanescence is surely one of my current favorites. Amy Lee the lead singer wrote beautiful and real lyrics for the song “Good Enough.” I can watch the video over and over! The song was released in 2007, but I didn’t really get into it until about a year ago. Her piano ballad is amazing, and the video is highly symbolic which I totally love. The imagery is powerful and features: a library of books; Amy writing in a book; a mirror; her mind; flames (as passion); and rain (as tears). In the beginning of the video, Lee buried a memory. From a burned room, new life and vines grow from the seed of a memory she buried (or planted depending on how you interpret it). Lee wrote a song about being under someone’s spell. She sings “crave my heart and it’s bleeding in your hand.” While Lee contemplates being “good enough” you can almost taste her feelings.
