Of Sky

A double rainbow appeared after a lovely storm. I was looking out the picture window on the train.

A double rainbow appeared after a lovely storm. I was looking out the picture window on the train.

Daytime has settled her head. I sit and watch darkness drift by. Here and there lights flicker through the window on my midnight train ride. As the sun set for the day, there was a beautiful storm. Following that storm, a double rainbow stroked her sky. Many cultures believe that a double rainbow symbolizes transformation and/or a bridge to the spirit world. I believe that each day we must transform to grow spiritually and mentally. The rainbow was amazing.

Drops trickle, roll,
embrace the glass.
Travel miles, but
I will never reach
the destination.
Places pass from
dot to dot. I leave
my mark on every
spot. My mind is
charged like thick
static in the air.
Lightening moves
across the sky with
rhythmic force. My
thoughts swim on
right through the
night~ searching
steel and borrowed
time. These arms
extend. Hands do
yearn to touch a
velvet bow of sky.
A double rainbow~
colors to wrap on
every finger. Drops
trickle, dance, caress
the glass. They move.
They search, but will
never reach their
final destination…
