Keep Running When it Rains

Today I ran in the rain. I ended up completely soaked, but I always have a change of clothes on me. It was really nice to do that. I giggled to myself as I saw many women and men return from lunch covering their heads with newspaper, plastic bags, and umbrellas.

It felt rather empowering not to care about how I would look after I got drenched. I’m glad I didn’t go get some comfort food. That’s what I wanted to do, but my will power has been keeping me on the right track. I had to stop to take a photo of the raindrops making beautiful patterns in a puddle.

After so many years, I know how far I run by listening to music. Today I ran two miles and I feel good. Hopefully tomorrow my wrist will be better and I can hit some chest, trapz and triz with the sickness! I am indeed on a mission.

“And the day

came when the

risk to remain

tight in a bud

was more painful

than the risk it

took to blossom.”

sounds refreshing to run in the rain!
I had a similar thought when I went outside at lunch and saw people covering themselves and avoiding the rain so much. We have so little rain here that people seem afraid of it!
