Impressions

image

Ruby heels. A clingy dress. They
don’t confirm that I’m unique.
It’s the underpinnings of of my
soul which rarely get a peek.

Impressions just can’t be
impressed into the cold concrete.
Grey is hard and heels will break
when with their death they meet.

Ruby red and slinky black.
They will not capture any love.
What’s underneath my salty skin
beats what offered up above.

Impressions wane or aren’t there,
just made on those who care.
Not many want to look inside
and others wouldn’t even dare.

Ruby heels. A clingy dress. They
don’t confirm that I’m unique.
It’s the underpinnings of of my
soul which rarely get a peek.
