The Mortality of Dreams

image
This necklace posed another interesting coincidence for me this weekend. On Friday night I posted Edgar Allan Poe’s poem A Dream Within a Dream and had spent hours staring at Poe’s face. The next morning, I was looking for new jewelry at the mall, and the first necklace to catch my eye was this one. When I reached for it, I didn’t realize that the clear 1/2 orb contained a magnified verse from Poe’s poem about the delicate mortality of dreams. Why must our precious dreams meet with death? Why??
