sacred, sweet
a fleeting dream
pure heartwood
brushed my lips

center of time
Earthly beings
scent lingers on
numb fingertips

rare ritual
begin to fly
into chasms
of your deep

aromatic quality
one piece of life
the scent is
yours to keep

priceless smell
fever distilled
sandalwood lofts
into my soul

heartwood bleeds
fragrant oil
takes a toll
