•Artistic memory of Stephanie gifted to me by her family•

Close to three years ago, I captured this footage of a book I handcrafted in memory of an amazing woman for a family who loved her very much and lost her much to soon. She was a good, kind creative, and very beautiful woman who loved nature and animals. She had a good heart. Making this gave me an opportunity to learn more about a woman who embodied so many wonderful things throughout her life. She truly made a difference while she was on this Earth she respected. It was an honor to gift her family with a mini archive in her memory.
“Karma is experience, and experience creates memory, and memory creates imagination and desire, and desire creates karma again. If I buy a cup of coffee, that’s karma. I now have that memory that might give me the potential desire for having cappuccino, and I walk into Starbucks, and there’s karma all over again.” ☆Deepak Chopra

The idea for this poem was originally drafted as a placeholder within WordPress in 2018, inspired by a SciShow episode. The episode was titled “5 Things Humans Got Really Wrong About Our Bodies.” That night, I drafted the idea to write a poem when I learned about Miasma theory. This is an aged medical theory about air… or “bad air” if you will. Also known as “night air,” Miasma theorists concluded breathing it could lead to the Black Death and other diseases. Tonight… I followed through on the idea and crafted a poem.
noxious fumes of bad air drift pushing past the barrier
real love floats false friendship sinks into a ghost of what you were
miasmal dream a ghastly sight straight poisonous and untold
history was made it’s there to keep know the night air will be cold
noxious fumes of bad air drift pushing past the barrier
real love floats false friendship sinks into a ghost of what you were
At work, I’m one woman amongst a team of all male directors. A few months ago, one of them sent me this meme. I thought it was hilarious and loved it. I guess that’s how he sees me. Often close to reality this seems. It’s that awkward moment! Glad some think that’s bad ass! I have this on my fridge.

Not long ago we went to a dinner party with some gym peeps at Theo’s house. It was a nice evening. We were able to explore his museum-like decor with artifacts and professional photographs reflective of his travels, however, Marcus’s “Mandrill Cake” won the spotlight that evening. It was a creative spin on a decorative, high-protein cake to honor our gym and I loved that idea! Of course I took this custom muscle recipe straight to Martin, the owner of Mandrill’s ’cause it was so coo’!
“I don’t really want to become normal, average, standard. I want merely to gain in strength, in the courage to live out my life more fully, enjoy more, experience more. I want to develop even more original and more unconventional traits.”

Recent gifts for two strong New Mexico women whom were competing in other states out of Santa Fe, NM! Susan and Renee. I love crafting and I love these bottles and I found a perfect card! Acknowledging other people matters! That’s why I gave gifts to inspiring women in support of what we all love! Lifting weights! I do know that one went pro! Cheers to strong women!
So proud of my cousin Jessica for making such a difference with Tewa Women United for a decade. My cousin is a doula and it was an honor to see women from various backgrounds at this event becoming doulas as well. Jessica is a special woman and it’s wonderful to see a woman with Lujan roots making a difference in our community.
