Love this discussion and I agree 100%. It’s between Joe Rogan dropping F bombz with tough love and Dr. Rhonda Patrick, who has a Ph.D. in biomedical science and a B.S. in biochemistry- chemistry. This lady has done extensive research on aging, cancer, and nutrition in addition to the importance of mindfulness, stress reduction, and sleep. The latter being critical to me right now.
Dr. Patrick’s studies improved her personal battles and her findings have shown that vitamin D “is critical to serotonin production,” and serotonin makes you happy. Less than 30% of Americans get adequate levels of vitamin D.” She says that when people feel “negative or low-energy,” that “it could be as simple as vitamin D.” You can read about that in 5 Foods for a Better Brain.
“1 is a doer, a powerful force that produces results and does not allow anything or anyone to limit its potential. The 1 is aggressive, a necessary energy for creating and producing. The 1 is always in the forefront: a spearpoint directing and leading others. The shape of the number 1, just like the shape of all other symbols, reflects its meaning; it walks upright with pride and purpose. Strong, determined, unwavering and with specific goals in mind, the 1 can turn dreams and ideas into reality. It pushes obstacles aside or simply drills right through them.”
It’s funny, but if I had a penny for every time someone asked me how I do things with nails, I’d buy a huge tub of protein. My gym pal and I decided we needed a spa visit. Yep… we’re girls who lift with nails. Last week an older man in the gym asked me how I did it with “those nails?” I told him I’d “use my nail to poke his eye out.” Maybe I should have invited him to watch me bench today? 😂
Today I’m feeling a *tude so I pretty much stomped it out in the gym. It’s all just so inspirational, igniting my inner beast… sending a jolt down my spine.
My focus is seriously like….. woaaaah and that weapon alone (ok maybe with music) will secure my goals on bench, squat and deadz for 2017. I mean the hottest dude could be around and I’m unbroken~ straight killin’ my mission like I’d run him right over to get that rack I’m needing.
One of my friends from the gym always thinks I’m on pre-workout or a buncha caffeine (actually, a lot of people ask me if I take pre-workout), but he and his bae were like… you’re on a mission today! I take no pre-workout and haven’t in years. I drink ’bout 1.5 a day of coffee… nothing major. You know what it is? It’s simple actually…
I’m now able to control my mind in these mysterious ways when I’m in the gym. Music induces this naturally elevated mental state. I’m then able to evoke all of my monsters and control the iron. The jolt runs through me like I’m on this mission alone.
Burning the house da fuk down to Seven Enemies in the gym today. I love this song by Hatebreed and Saturday!! I’m set to kill it on chest soon… cold… dead… buried… for real.
If it wasn’t for the gym, stress levels would surely cause my brain to implode. It was a very hectic day and I pushed a super late leg sesh, but I still put in work. I didn’t squat heavy opting to focus on higher reps and form. I’m glad I went… even if it was really late. The gym is my medicine. It always makes me feel better!
