Setting Wishes Afire

I put Carmen’s flying wish paper to use with the girls. This was one of her birthday gifts for me. What an amazing creation!! Together we prepared our platforms and an undisclosed wish. One by one, we set them afire and watched as they magically floated away.

Happiest Place on Earth

On Monday, my boss brought me this seriously awesome cup from her happiest place on Earth. She loves Disneyland. She also knows I love any villainess and let’s face it, Disney boasts some of the best there are. I started to think about it… but did I even need to think about it? Where is my happiest place on Earth?

The gym is my Disneyland! That is the place that I live to love. It is where the magic happens. It is the ride I never want to get off of. It is that rush of excitement. It is the place where dreams come true and problems disappear. It is where I become someone new… a true beast, but not Beauty and the Beast. The gym is my happiest place on Earth for sure!!

In loving memory of The Goblin King… Jareth. Most of you who know me know that the dark fantasy, Labyrinth is one of my all time favorites. I must have seen that movie 1,000x. David Bowie made that film unique and I will remember the tragically magical story of Sarah and Jareth as one of the best. I have that entire script memorized… so does my sister and many of my friends. May The Goblin King rest in peace, but forever live on in our darkest fantasies.

I’m totally binge watching Penny Dreadful (Season 2). Why didn’t I discover this awesome series during Season 1? Love, mystery, enchantment, darkness, sex, spells… what’s not to like? It’s great to see this British-American horror story bring some of the best written monsters by some of the best authors to life. I also love the darkness of Eva Green. She plays a much different role than she did in my beloved 300: Rise of an Empire as Artemisia, but she still plays a bad ass. Time for bed. It’s after midnight again!

Reinking Magic: Part 2

Here are some photos from my latest sitting with Leo Gonzales, owner and artist (Stay Gold in Albuquerque). I love his work and went to school with him. He created my sorcerer a long time ago and I’m adding to it and having it redone. I’ve had many compliments on the new ink and look forward to my next sitting. I’ll have some black shading put into the “magic” and the sorcerer will be retouched on the next round. So far this tat has taken about 10 hours. I’m probably looking at 5 more!

Reinking Magic

I love the summer. There is nothing like fresh air and the warmth of the sun after a busy day at work. It is really invigorating. Yesterday I went for a short run and it felt very good. I am addicted to the gym. That is no lie, but I do like outdoor fitness as well. I need to start making more time for that even though I’ve been hitting the gym hard.

After my run, I stopped to rest on my favorite perch (a metal telephone company box), where I can watch cars pass back and forth to and from Albuquerque. I’m always amazed by how many vehicles can pass by in just a few minutes. That’s the case at night too! While I was sitting there on the box, I looked down at one of my other old tattoos. It needs to be redone.

My sorcerer is about 50% through the process of getting reinked and added to. I was in Leo’s chair for 5 hours last Saturday, but I need another sitting. I am really happy with his work and nobody will ever be trusted marking my skin again. I think my sorceress will be next!! Leo didn’t ink that one and I regret that. I have never really been happy with her. She needs reworking. Hope she’s ready!
