That moment when a woman is brave enough to sneak up and smack my ass from the back in the gym and at first I’m shocked and sort of mad, but later feel like maybe it was a compliment of sorts and my ass be lookin’ better from da squats if a former professional body builder really couldn’t resist not one ass smack, but two! (Yes… that was a run on sentence) I’m around her everyday and I’ve never seen her smack an ass before. She crazy, but really tho… she rocked a serious ass of steel in her prime.

I love to catch up with my cousin Jessica. I saw her this evening and she is such a beautiful little spirit. I found out that she is going to Alaska next week on a special mission and so I wanted to wish her luck! This lady is always making a difference in the lives of women and children. I’m so proud of the woman she has become.
We were next door neighbors as children and loved spending all our time together, outside under the apple trees. Now… we are all grown up and only catch up from time to time. I was remembering a picture she sent me a while back and thought I’d share a then and now look at us.

Sometimes you just have to decide that nothing… nothing… I mean absolutely nothing will stop you. With tears in our eyelined eyes, a little over a month ago, together, we made a real pact in the gym. We promised each other that no matter what happens to us, we will breathe iron. No arms, one leg, sickness, injuries, wheelchairs, crawling… we will be in there to the death!
Last Saturday, my friend Elaine brought me a gift to the gym in a small black bag. She had a cute little smile on her face when she approached me. She bought us matching friendship bracelets with tiny skulls in honor of our pact and told me thank you for being so supportive. We aren’t going down without a fight! That’s a promise.
It is so good to know genuine people who have such good hearts. If you throw thoughtfulness, beauty and fitness into that equation, that makes someone even more special. Thank you to Christina for thinking of me on Mother’s Day weekend. She is gorgeous, fit and super creative. Even though she wasn’t at the gym today, she knew I’d be there, so she sent me a gift with her husband.
Her husband is a personal trainer who delivered me a handcrafted, amazing gift today from one mother to another. It was a clear box housing a homemade sugar cookie beehive. I got buzzed!! Hahaaaa. I told her husband… “tell her these are unbelieveable and awesome. Thank you and that I’ll owe her a few pounds for this!!” He laughed. Good hearts are hard to come by.
