The week Stan Lee passed away, I decided to give my Poison Ivy cosplay hair color a permanent run and I colored it myself. So far I’m into going from blonde to red, but I’m not exactly Hela (yet) and I’m not exactly Poison. May the true Marvel superhero rest in peace.

Superhero Slam Down

The superhero slam down was good. I watched it today. You know… the critics are so critical, but I liked it even though there weren’t enough villains. Baffling Questions ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Refused to Answer by Donna Dickens was a funny, thought provoking article I read after the movie. It bothered me that Lois Lane had red hair and that she was such a damn damsel in distress. It also bothered me that Wonder Woman wasn’t the least bit buff, but here are some of the things I liked.

A Villainess Vote 4 Batman

I’m totally going for Batman this weekend when I go see #BatmanvSuperman. I’m a DC gal, so I gotta see this flick. Do they really become friends in the end like I’ve heard though? What kind of movie is this for God’s sake? Is this the “Dawn of Justice” or what? I want to know where all the awesome, hell raising, #DCVillains are? Lex Luthor and General Zod just don’t do it for me. Waiting impatiently on #SuicideSquad.

Sum Jacked Azz Deadpool

The new Deadpool movie will be rated R and the release date will coincide with Valentine’s Day 2016! That’s a win-win. It is just so ridiculous that people and media outlets who know nothing about Deadpool, keeping calling him a superhero (yeah~ Entertainment Weekly, get it straight). Superhero? Ommmmmmm… Nope! If you don’t know that Deadpool is the best jacked 💪 antihero, you should pro’ly skip the flick. He would love that I’m going to straight murder my shoulderz, trapz, biz and triz tomorrow. Love me sum holidays in the gym and the jacked azz antihero. Deadpool will pro’ly be better than Suicide Squad!

Well…the results are in. I took photos on Saturday (before I hit the gym)! In late March, I started a tough training plan intended to grow my biceps more in 6-8 weeks. Read my post~ Friday Night Pump for a look back at my thoughts at that time. I will say that the plan worked.

These photos clearly demonstrate success and I am happy about it. I have created a (one year) bi photo progression. There are some consequences tied to overtraining smaller muscles though. I would highly suggest supplementing with glucosamine and omega3 if you try the plan I did.

Here’s a link to the article in Physical Culturist by Clay Hyght. The Complete Guide to Biceps Training triggered my plan. For 6 weeks, I hit my biceps on three non-consecutive days per week and they did grow. I did tons of hammers, preachers, reverse, and barbell to the nose curls.

The article is a good read. It discusses the importance of the brachialis to maximize the peak. My peak grew a tiny bit, but the width of my arm and the length of my bicep changed more. According to Hyght, this is the beginning of a higher peak. I’m on my way to a bigger peak.

The Debut of Scarlet Witch

Avengers: Age of Ultron was awesome! I was really looking forward to the debut of the Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff). She is one of the twins. I wouldn’t say that the film was completely successful in her big screen creation, but I’m hoping she is revamped in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War (2016). She really wasn’t witchy or cool enough, and this film character sort of strayed from her comic book origins. See a couple of my older posts with the Scarlet Witch.

Even though I didn’t love her in this movie, my favorite scene did involve the mutant beauty.

It’s ‘Harley Quinn Month’, According To DC Comics, So What Does That Mean?

Of course it is. Why isn’t she reading 50 with The Hulk or maybe Batman? They both have abs like Grey. Plus… the Harley Quinn Valentine’s Day Special #1 (April 2015) features The Joker Batman bound and all kissed up. That’s more 50ish anyhow eh!?

Final Touches: 2015 ABQ ComicCon

Tonight I completed: the final touches for my Harley Quinn cosplay; made my nephew a Captain America tee shirt with an embroidered iron on; and made my son a Deadpool mask. We were going to paint his face, but at the last minute we decided on the mask. If I had more than one night to work on it, I’m sure I could have done way better job! He liked it though…and that’s all that matters! I’m headed off to Albuquerque tomorrow. I’m flying solo to a catch a lecture by a scientist from Sandia National Labs. Can’t wait for this weekend to begin!

Sleeping with the Men of Marvel

Even though I tend to favor DC over Marvel, I couldn’t pass up this sweatshirt. It’s missing Vapor or Dragoness or Black Mamba or Dark Angel or Red She-Hulk or Dreamqueen or Nocturne, but I bought it anyway. Where’s the bad girlz of Marvel?? Tonight…I’m sleeping with the men of Marvel.

Batman or Superman?

I have to wait until 2016 to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice??? Noooooo!!! The suspense is killing me! I should have camped in Taos for a chance to see two of DC’s most famous super dudes all geared up right here in my state! I am leaning toward Team Batman even though Ben Affleck will really have to work to convince me.

I like Henry Cavill, so if Superman wins I guess I’d be ok with that. Where are the super villains? I need some of those for sure. The Land of Enchantment was the last stop after film crews graced Michigan and Illinois. The movie is sure to be awesome, as production says they dropped at least $13 milly in New Mexico alone!

Oh and yeayyyyy!!! Jason Namakaeha Momoa is playing Aquaman!!!! Be still my beating heart. Ok….I guess Aquaman may be a’ight after all eh!? I seriously need a crazy or toxic, female DC super villainess though!?! Where they at? I guess I can wait for Suicide Squad if it has to be all good.
