Why Rousey vs Holm is Better Sooner Than Later.

August 29, 2015

Hummmmmm…… Very interesting. A thumb injury Lawler or is Rousey actually a little nervous about fighting a New Mexican?! I will probably regret these words on November 15 since I have been a Rousey fan since fight 1, but I’ll be gunning for the underdog on this one. I’m in Holly’s corner 100% because I’ll be representing my home state! Let’s go New Mexico!! This means Holly has significantly less time to train. I hope she’s ready to lay down at least a few good jabs, but I’m looking for a win for Burque! Be smart Holly… all the talk about her wanting to fight Mayweather (a boxer)… she’s trying to get in your head~ focus!!! ~~~F

Maximizing MMA

Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey was scheduled to fight #8 Holly Holm on January 2nd in Las Vegas but thanks to a thumb injury to current Welterweight champion, Robbie “Ruthless” Lawler prevents the main event from taking place.

As stated in the Tweet above, the new main event will take place in the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. Dana White released the news first on SportsCenter and went on to say. “Rousey vs Holm is main event at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne. We’ll break all-time attendance record for an MMA event.”. The previous record was in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Rogers Centre at UFC 129: St. Pierre vs Shields.

The fight that was originally planned was looking as being a all-female card as the Woman’s Strawweight Championship was supposed to be on the line in the co-main event as the defending champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk would go…

The Dance of Body and Soul

March 30, 2015

Unbelievably awesome. This is from “Women Who Run With the Wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ph.D. Dr. Estés is such an insightful woman. This is an amazing piece and so true.

Dance of Body and Soul

With every struggle, every lesson, comes much wisdom. And with much wisdom comes much sorrow. But if we must take it to grow, we must take it. We may not be ready for it, or to face what comes next but we must. We cannot outrun lady death. To know the natural cycles of life and love, we must lay with her. We must go up against what we fear the most. We must die in order to be reborn. So my friends, do not be afraid to untangle the bones of fear. To lay with her, to embrace her, to have compassion for her. And to allow ourselves to be reborn.

My wisdom tonight is brought to you by the tale of the Skeleton Woman.

To love, one must not only be strong, but wise. Strength comes from the spirit, Wisdom comes from experience with the…

Chile Mockup Designs

August 10, 2014

I am so honored to be working on some ad designs for the owner of Tia Sophia’s. The restaurant has been a downtown hotspot for longer than I can remember. Hopefully the owner likes the design mockups. I created the advertisements in color and then converted them to black and white, which is less costly to run. Let’s see what he thinks!? Here is a pic of the metadata on my laptop.

Perceptual Anomalies of Derealization.

September 4, 2013

Pareidolia is it??? Unfortunate that my mind finds the need to give unstructured data structure. Here is an interesting post on derealization.

Transmissions to Earth

Derealization (DR) is sensory distortion — when familiar people, places and things in the world of the senses are experienced as being distorted, distant, foreign or unreal.

The experience of finding a close friend or family member unfamiliar or seeing them as an imposter, for instance, may be a dissociation between your sensory perception of that person and the emotions typically associated with him or her. You can see them clearly and you know who they are (or at least should be), but it doesn’t feel as if its really them, or they may not even feel real at all. The same would appear to be true with familiar places and objects that are suddenly foreign to a person.

The sensory field itself can also be dissociated from consciousness in whole or in part, giving rise to witness consciousness, pareidolia, negative hallucinations and positive hallucinations.

Witness consciousness involves the sense…

The intellect beneath the image

July 30, 2013

Loved this post!!! She was also a poet!!!

Books Are Better

Marilyn Monroe was known for her beauty and glamour, but what many observers fail to note about her is that she was an avid reader and a student of literature. Among the thousands of photos that were taken of her, many dozens portray her reading books in various settings and poses — a window into the intellect that lay beneath the image.

Good Morning Gloucester

vert moon copy

From The Farmer’s Almanac:

February’s full Moon is traditionally called the Full Snow Moon because usually the heaviest snows fall in February.

Hunting becomes very difficult, and so some Native American tribes called this the Hunger Moon.

Other Native American tribes called this Moon the “Shoulder to Shoulder Around the Fire Moon” (Wishram Native Americans), the “No Snow in the Trails Moon” (Zuni Native Americans), and the “Bone Moon” (Cherokee Native Americans). The Bone Moon meant that there was so little food that people gnawed on bones and ate bone marrow soup.
